The Book Interview Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Laura @ The Book Corps for this tag. I still actually have another one Laura tagged me in a while ago that I haven’t got to so I thought I’d smash this one out and use it as motivation to get others done 😅

So without further ado….

Name

Ashleigh

Age

24, one quarter life crisis coming up, jokes it’s already here

Favourite Genre(s)

Epic Fantasy, the kind with magic it’s *chefs kiss*. I do also really enjoy romance though but if it’s gay, regardless of genre, I’m there!

Favourite Authors

Anna Stephens, C.S. Pacat, V.E. Schwab, Victoria Lee, T.J. Klune, S.A. Chakraborty, Roan Parrish, Avon Gale and Piper Vaughn, Trudi Canavan, Taylor Jenkins Reid (well Seven Husbands at least, I haven’t read her others), Lynn Flewelling, Jodi McAlister, Lara Elena Donnelly to name a few.

Forever Favourites*

*a small selection

What was your first book of 2018?

Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor

How did you like it?

I really enjoyed it, though admittedly not as much as Daughter of Smoke and Bone!

What was your last book of 2018?

Runebreaker by Alex R.Kahler

How did you like it?

I bloody loved it! The Runebinder Chronicles is one of my favourite series. Very gay, very awesome.

What do you look for in a book/what makes it really stand out?

Ownvoices rep, lush worldbuilding, beefy books, gaaaayyyyyy.

Do you collect any particular sets/editions of books?

I tend not to because it can be an expensive endeavour and Australia doesn’t get a whole lot of special editions however, I’m collecting the different editions of The Fever King by Victoria Lee and the Goldsboro editions of Godblind, Darksoul and fingers crossed Bloodchild when it’s out!

Do you prefer ebooks, audiobooks or physical books (hardback or paperback)?

I prefer physical books in paperback format, I find they’re easier to read than hardcovers in terms of holding them. I buy a lot of the romance I read in ebook form. I’m not particular, that said, I struggle with audiobooks because I find my attention just wanders to much.

Do you keep books you didn’t like, or get rid of them?

I use to keep them because I had this thing about not getting rid of any but recently I’ve cleared out my bookshelf and honestly it was really cathartic to and I’ll keep doing it in future. I either donate them or sell them.

What literary character best defines you/do you best related to?

Ohhhh that’s a hard one. Noam Alvaro as a disaster bi would have to be up there!

I tag…….you! If you fancy doing this tag link back to me so I can check out your answers too!
