Welcome to my very last post for 2018! It’s been a wonderful year for reading and is the first full year of my blog. I’m still very much enjoying running this blog and seeing it slowly grow will never get old. I’ve met so many wonderful people and being a part of the book community is so much fun!
To finish of the year I was tagged by Laura @ The Book Corps to do the Rise of the Guardians book tag, who also created the tag. So without further ado….
Jackson Overland aka Jack Frost: Name an icy character that is actually very lovable and sweet
Dara Shirazi ~ The Fever King, Victoria Lee.
He may try to appear icy and unaffected but I know the truth. Dara, my softe son. May you have all the goats and star gazing you deserve.
Nicholas St. North aka Santa Claus: Name a fun and jolly character that could actually cut a bitch
Damianos of Akielos ~ Captive Prince, C.S. Pacat
Maybe a bit of a stretch but: Damianos, sunshine child, tol boi, can fuck you up.
Does he need to remind you of that time he speared a man with a two-handed broad sword across a river to protect Laurent?
Toothiana aka The Tooth Fairy: Name a lovable book that is dear to your heart (and is so sweet it gives you a tooth ache!)
The Remaking of Corbin Wale, Roan Parrish
There was some angst in this book but honestly it’s so beautiful and sweet I cried.
Sanderson Mansnoozie aka The Sandman: Name a book that put you to sleep (figuratively or literally)
Crime and Punishment, Fyodor Dostoyevsky
This was a while ago but why oh way are we still getting high schoolers to read these kinds of books? Do you want to make children hate reading?
E. Aster Bunnymund aka The Easter Bunny: Name a book that fills you with hope
Amberlough, Lara Elena Donnelly
Amidst an absolute avalanche of feelings the end of Amberlough filled me with the desperate hope that Cyril would make it.
Probably not the kind of hope Laura was going for but I saw an opportunity and took it
Mim aka The Man in the Moon: Name a wise character that acts as a mentor/parental figure
Nysander ~ The Nightrunner series, Lynn Flewelling
Nysander is a mentor and father figure to both Alec and Seregil, guiding them, perplexing them, hiding things from them for their own good. Letting Alec in on Seregil’s embarrassing moments!
Pitch Black aka The Nightmare King: Name a villain/antihero you can’t help but love
******** ******** ~ The Fever King, Victoria Lee
This may be a kinda of spoiler so I’m not going to say who (and the stars aren’t an accurate count letter for letter either).
But Victoria hit like every goddamn element I love in a good villain mmmHMMMM. Just y’all wait 👀👀
*shakes fist* VICTORIA
I’m tagging (with absolutely no obligation) Leah @ Small Queer Big Opinions, Kate @ Reading Through Infinity, Amber @ Ambsreads, Destiny @ Howling Libraries, Jamieson @ Jamisshelves, Tennika @ That Bibliophile Franklin, Shan @ Little Irish Book Cat and anyone else that would like to have a go!
Oooh, what a fun tag, thank you! I’ve never actually seen Rise of the Guardians but… this kinda makes me want to? 😂

Ahhh I love this film! The characters are all so likable (except Pitch of course) and it was more emotional that I was expecting! Thanks for tagging me, I’ll try to do the tag today since it’s the last day of 2018 and (kind of) of the Christmas season. Great post!
